Kia’s Soul EV is proving a global success, with the company announcing it has now sold more than 10,000 units worldwide.
Kia announced it has posted combined sales of 10,210 units through to January 2016, with 8630 sold outside of its South Korean home.
Europe was the largest market, with 6770 units sold, while 1411 were sold in the US.
The Soul EV was launched in South Korea in 2014 with sales extended to Europe and the US later that year.
The Soul EV is powered by a 27 kilowatt hour lithium-ion polymer battery and was developed at parent company Hyundai’s research centre outside of Seoul.
The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometre an hour in 11.2 seconds, with a range of 212 kilometres.
