The iconic red London double decker bus now has a fully EV version, with the first busses now in service.
The first five E-buses will operate on London’s Route 98, running between Russell Square and Willesden.
They can travel around 300 kilometres on a single charge, meaning they can do a full day’s work before needing a re-charge overnight at the depot.
Each bus costs around US$500,000 to build, and are manufactured by leading Chinese EV maker BYD.
London has a target for all single decker buses to be zero emission by 2020.
